Vision Engineering targets faster, traceable inspection with EVO Cam AURA
Vision Engineering has launched EVO Cam AURA, a digital microscope platform designed to combine high-resolution imaging, measurement and inspection documentation within a single workflow.
Succeeding the company’s EVO Cam II, the new system is aimed at industrial inspection and quality applications where increasingly detailed components and assemblies need to be assessed consistently and the resulting measurements retained as part of the quality record.
A key application is dimensional and visual inspection of complex parts. EVO Cam AURA uses 4K imaging, optical zoom, autofocus and focus stacking to provide detailed views while maintaining focus across uneven or complex surfaces. This allows an operator to move between an overall view and specific features without changing lenses.
Measurement is integrated directly into the AURA software alongside image capture, annotation and analysis. Calibrated measurements can be added to inspection images, with metadata and timestamps retained with the result. For quality teams, this provides a way of creating documented inspection evidence without moving between separate imaging and measurement systems.
The system is also designed for repeatable inspection. Operators can create presets incorporating magnification, lighting and other inspection parameters, while Supervisor Mode can restrict changes to critical settings. Presets can be shared between systems and sites, helping standardise inspection procedures where multiple operators or production locations are involved.
In aerospace and defence applications, Vision Engineering highlights the potential of metadata- and timestamp-embedded images for creating traceable inspection records. Secure variants are available for restricted environments where wireless connectivity, Bluetooth or removable storage cannot be used.
Other applications include medical device inspection, automotive production and laboratory analysis. Live streaming also allows inspection activity to be viewed remotely for collaboration or oversight.
EVO Cam AURA is available in 4K Touch, 4K and HD versions, with a choice of illumination, objectives, stands and connectivity. The system can operate standalone without a PC and is available globally through Vision Engineering and its authorised distributors.
