PowTechnology Sponsor Transform Industry’s Digital Manufacturing Summit

PowTechnology have just sponsored the Transform Industry Digital Manufacturing Summit, held this year at the De Vere Wokefield Estate, in the picturesque Berkshire countryside.

Now in it’s 4th year, this ground breaking event gets together senior digital manufacturing thought leaders to share expertise and insights on adoption of digital technologies to gain a competitive edge.

As sponsors, we presented, hosted a round table and received business leaders at our stand.

Our presentation, “Powering Past Pilot Purgatory” clearly resonated with our audience, expertly delivered by CEO, Dave Oakes and IIoT Solutions Architect, Will Brown, both of whom have a broad range of hands-on application experience. 

They explained that 74% of industry is stuck in the pilot trap and showed how real manufacturers have broken free from “pilot purgatory” looking at the common characteristics of the projects taken forward.

They shared their personal experience of two proven, outcome-driven, digital projects, which had delivered measurable efficiency, quality and sustainability gains. 

They aimed to inspire attendees, by showing how they could scale beyond a trial to capture the true commercial value of smart manufacturing. Based on the number of people who visited our stand over the day, it looked like they achieved that goal!

PowTechnology also hosted a round table discussion “Data to Decisions: From Real Problems to Real Benefits” focussed on ensuring IIoT delivers real results, by solving the right problems. 

PowTechnology are a Siemens Solution Partner and we were delighted to be joined by Cemil Dumlu as a moderator. Cemil is an IoT specialist within Siemens Digital Industries, who works with customers to help them leverage data-driven solutions to improve efficiency and operational.

Our discussion centred around why so many manufacturers collect mountains of data, but struggle to convert it into actionable insight. Once again, it proved a popular theme, with delegates pulling up chairs from the presentation area and clustering around the table.

Often they had run a digital pilot project, yet failed to scale or deliver measurable ROI. The debate covered methods to overcome such frustrations with attendees sharing their own experiences of taking a problem-first approach, selecting the right technology and engaging stakeholders.
